"message": "ALSA: hda/realtek - Add shutup hint\n\nThe pin shutup callback seems working well on some devices while it\ndoes harm on some other devices; e.g. Lenovo laptops show often the\nnoises at (runtime) PM with the pin shutup enabled.\n\nCurrently, the only way to disable the pin shutup is to hard-code\n spec-\u003eshutup \u003d alc_no_shutup;\nin the fixup, and this makes the debugging harder for normal users.\nFor allowing users to test the similar effect without recompiling the\nkernel, this patch adds a new hint string \"shutup\". It\u0027s a boolean\nvalue, and by passing false to this, user can turn off the pin shutup\ncall.\n\nFor example, to turn off the shutup on Lenovo P50, create a \"firmware\npatch\" file (e.g. /lib/firmware/alsa/lenovo-p50) containing the\nfollowing lines:\n\n [codec]\n 0x10ec0298 0x17aa222e 0\n\n [hint]\n shutup \u003d no\n\nand pass the file via patch option of snd-hda-intel module\n(e.g. patch\u003dalsa/lenovo-p50).\n\nSigned-off-by: Takashi Iwai \u003ctiwai@suse.de\u003e\n",
